Norfolk favorite Olly Day will be celebrating his 9th Christmas show on Cromer pier this December. The multi talented entertainer will joined by a powerful line up who are all set to deliver another festive song and dance spectacular.
Olly said “We are so lucky having this wonderful pier on our doorstep and it’s always a pleasure performing here”
This special brand of variety is a breath of fresh air and is staged on the only remaining end of the pier theatre in the world. Olly was on form with his slick Norfolk humour and superb timing.
Musician extraordinaire, Leo Shavers, will be playing tunes on hosepipes and bagpipes and will amaze audiences with his versatility. Leo is no stranger to Cromer and he appeared in the summer special over a decade ago. Leo has toured extensively with some of the top cruise ships. He said “It’s fantastic to be back in beautiful Cromer, there’s something magical about the place”
Emily Yarrow’s vocals are stronger than ever and will woo audiences with her angelic range. Emily has toured internationally and nationally as a solo singer and actress, also as guest soloist with various choral societies and choirs in the UK including the London Philharmonia who tour to Europe on a regular basis.
Emily is reunited with Summer Show 2016 star Rob McVeigh, who is in top form. Rob has recently returned from a year long cruise contract “It’s good to be back on dry land” He said “I’m really looking forward to performing in Cromer again”
Rob also appeared in the 2007 BBC television series Any Dream Will Do, where he was chosen to be in the final 12 to appear on the live Saturday night shows.
Di Cooke, who has been the director and choreographer of the Christmas show for the past 13 years, said ” I’m overjoyed that Openwide, which produces the show for NNDC, has granted a ten year extension of its contract to run the performances.
She explained that one of the vital ingredients of the show’s success was it’s traditional flavour laced with trendy themes and festive variety.
Di said “It’s wonderful to see the growth of variable age range in our audiences, and families across different generations laughing at the same thing”
The backbone of any variety show are the dancers, the routines and costume changes are dazzling. This high energy line up features: Amy Grimshaw (Dance captain) Gemma Foulkes, Lucy McFerra (Dance captain) Amy Ward, Conner Parkinson and Paul Spencer.
the children from Marlene’s School of Dance will be providing the local talent as always.
The show is backed up with superb stage crew and staff, lighting and sound brings the production to life with pinpoint precision and expertise. It all adds up to a spectacle not to be missed.
