Boxing Day Dip raises £4000 for Cromer RNLI

Clive Hedges handed over a cheque to Cromer RNLI for £4000 on Cromer pier today. Tony West’s grandson, Alfie, raised an amazing £700 of the grand total.

Mr West passed away in September following a two-year battle with cancer. He was a valued member of many organisations and a true champion for the town. Tony dressed as an inflatable Father Christmas at last year’s dip.

Hundred’s of brave folk took part in the traditional Boxing Day dip in this years event in memory of Tony, to raise money for Cromer RNLI.

Clive Hedges, chairman of North Norfolk Beach Runners who organise the event, said: “It has been fantastic. The last two or three years has generated bigger crowds than ever”
